Organic Cotton
All babygrows, sleepsuits, shoes, toys and blankets sold with our gift boxes are made of 100% certified organic cotton.

Organic cotton is an ideal choice for babies delicate skin:

• As cotton is grown using NO chemical pesticides, insecticides or dyes (a babies skin can absorb chemicals 5 times more easily than an adults skin  – which can irritate their skin)
• Organic cotton is thicker, stronger and much softer than conventional cotton

Organic cotton is grown using sustainable growing practices so that the impact on the environment is reduced, these are:

• Untreated seeds are used (no chemicals or genetic modification)
• Natural fertilizers are used
• Crops are rotated
• Defoliation is left up to nature's freezing rather than a chemical application
• Beneficial insects are introduced to cut the population of bad ones so a natural balance is maintained
• The soil retains nutrients and the water and air stay clean for future generations

With these practices in place the farmers and manufacturers of organic cotton have better working conditions, a decent wage and as no chemicals are used they are not damaging their health. (over 20,000 farmers worldwide died last year from working on conventional cotton crops)

Bamboo Fibre
The baby hooded towel is made of bamboo fibre that thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilizers and is 100% sustainable.  One of a new breed of 'green' man made cellulose fibres, the cross section of bamboo fibre is covered in tiny micro holes giving superior absorption and breathability to cotton.  It is also incredibly soft with a feeling akin to cashmere/silk and has natural antibacterial properties. The processing is done within strict environmental guidelines according to ISO 9000 & 14000.

Lambswool
The mini comfort blankets are made of ‘early years’ lambswool that comes from Merino sheep in Australia.  These sheep are reared specifically for their fleece rather than for their meat.  The hotter climate means that the sheep have had to adapt to producing finer wool.  Lambs are not dipped in pesticides or chemicals until they are 30 months old, which is why the felt used in these blankets is only made of ‘early years’ lambswool.

• Palm oil from sustainable sources
• Certified organic cocoa butter - cold pressed (certified by the soil association) and fairly traded
• NO parabens, SLS, synthetic colours or perfumes are used (can be an irritant to the skin)

Recycled Materials
Recycling is the reprocessing of materials into new products. Recycling can prevent the waste of potentially useful materials, reduces the consumption of raw materials and reduces energy usage, and hence greenhouse gas emissions.

 ALL signature keepsake boxes are made from 100% recycled cardboard and can be used in a nursery or home to treasure all babies keepsakes for years to come.

All outer packaging can be reused and we will only use filling that can be recycled, no bubble wrap for us!!
